How to download your JCP&L bill
To enroll you in community solar, we need a copy of your most recent JCP&L bill as a PDF. The good news: JCP&L keeps a PDF of every bill in your online account, and downloading one takes about five minutes. This guide walks you through it click by click.

Before you start, have this handy
- Your JCP&L online account username and password
- If you don't have an online account yet: your JCP&L account number from any paper bill, so you can register
- A computer, tablet, or phone with a web browser
The steps

Go to the JCP&L log-in page
Use the button below to open the log-in page in a new tab, then click the "Log In" button on that page. Heads up: JCP&L is part of FirstEnergy, so the website address will say firstenergycorp.com — that's normal, you're in the right place.
Don't have an online account yet? Click "Register" on that page instead. You'll need your JCP&L account number, which is printed at the top of any paper bill. - 2
Sign in to your account
Enter your username in the "Username" field and your password in the "Password" field, then click Log In. Note that JCP&L asks for a username, not your email address.
- Forgot your username? Click "Forgot Username?" under the log-in form.
- Forgot your password? Click "Forgot Password?" and JCP&L will walk you through resetting it.
If you've set up multi-factor authentication, JCP&L will send you a one-time code by text or email — enter it when prompted and you're in. - 3
Open your billing history
Once you're signed in, you'll land on your My Account dashboard. In the row of shortcuts near the top of the page, click "Billing & Payment History".
Shortcut: you can also go straight to firstenergycorp.com/my_account/bill_payment_history.html — if you're not signed in yet, it will ask you to log in first and then take you right there. - 4
Download your most recent bill
Your bills are listed by date, newest first. In the "View Bill" column, click "Download" next to the most recent bill. The PDF saves to your device — on a computer, check your Downloads folder; on a phone, use the share/save option to put it in your Files app.
We need the actual PDF with every page included. Photos or screenshots of your bill won't work with our automatic reader. - 5
Upload it to SolarGator
You're done with JCP&L! Head back to SolarGator and upload the PDF you just saved. We'll automatically read your account details from the bill — no typing required.

Registering is free and takes a couple of minutes. You'll need your JCP&L account number from any paper bill, and JCP&L will verify a few details about your account to confirm it's you.

JCP&L has a lookup page for forgotten usernames. For a forgotten password, click "Forgot Password?" on the log-in form and they'll email you a reset link.

JCP&L is one of FirstEnergy's utility companies, and all of its online account tools live on firstenergycorp.com. As long as the address ends in firstenergycorp.com, you're on the real site.
The bill opened in my browser instead of downloading
No problem — with the bill open, press Ctrl+S on Windows or Cmd+S on a Mac to save it as a PDF. You can also use Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer.
I only have a paper bill
You can turn it into a PDF with your phone: on iPhone, open the Notes app, tap the camera icon, and choose Scan Documents; on Android, the Google Drive app has a Scan button. Make sure you scan every page of the bill into a single PDF.
